Frequently asked questions
Common things we are asked and you may be wondering before getting treated.
Are Chiropractic Doctors Really Doctors?
Yes! After obtaining an undergraduate degree, it takes 4-5 years to complete doctorate training. Unlike your typical Primary Care provider, Chiropractors do not prescribe drugs or perform surgery.
Does it Hurt Getting Adjusted?
Most of our patients at Falls Healing Arts like getting adjustments and don’t find it painful. However, if the area we are adjusting is sore, it is possible it may be tender for a short period of time after the adjustment. Generally speaking, our patients feel relief within minutes after getting adjusted.
What is the Noise I Hear During an Adjustment?
The popping sound you hear is gas filling a vacuum created when joints are slightly separated. It's important to note, not all adjustments create a sound. Just because there wasn't a pop, doesn't mean there wasn't movement of the spine.
Can Babies Get Adjustments?
Yes! Although adjustments are different for babies as compared to adults since their spine is very supple but they can get adjusted. Their spine can grow up to 50% in length during the first year! This tremendous growth can cause problems. The earlier it is corrected, the less likely it will cause problems later in life.
